The Little People In The Radio present...

A show riffing on the anachronistic childhood fantasy of the little people who live inside the radio and perform all the voices and sounds heard. Turn on the radio, the little people begin to talk; change the station, and they change their voices. Most basically an exploration of the uses and misuses of the trope of the radio host, taken from archival material, scans of the dial and excerpts of works by radio artists, mixed into a landscape of radiophonic interceptions and interfrequency radio sounds. The result is an investigative bricolage that considers the environment, morphology and taxonomy of the little people inside the radio.

Norwegian artist Maia Urstad talks about nostalgia, radio pips, AM, FM and DAB, about the importance of ska, about arches and obelisks, sounds in the fjord, and time capsules, about program 81, freq_out, and foghorns, and about local radio stations and lost tapes.
Short Waves / Long Distance
This show, curated by Wave Farm, presents an international look at works that explore the sonics of the shortwave radio spectrum (2-30 mHz), and the experience of long distance listening. The possibility of drumming
Morten J. Olsen’s mix for the INTERRUPTIONS series presents an extreme, complex and long journey into drumming, to discuss out loud Olsen’s most personal theories coming from his very own personal experience and background. As Morten puts it, possibly, ‘a long and painful listening experience of percussion oriented music’.
