Bikini Atoll Atomic Bomb Test, 1946

Curated by Serge Guilbaut

This three program series directed by Serge Guilbaut, allows to analyse how intermeshed music was with art scene (1946-1956) and how at times they were closely connected with the intense politics of the Cold War.

In this last program, we'll see how on both sides of the Atlantic, entertainment and politically loaded musical productions describing at first a dangerous world, moved rapidly from a form of dark existentialism to happy consumerism, a world where teenagers were rapidly becoming the center of attention while caring immensely about cars, 'babies' and their Blue Suede Shoes.
