Xavier Le Roy has a doctorate in molecular biology from the University of Montpellier, but he has worked as a dancer an choreographer since 1991. He has been a member of several companies and has worked with choreographers such as erome Bel, Yvonne Rainer o Eszter Salamon. His solo works "Self Unfinished" (1998) and "Product of Circumstances" (1999) opened up new visions for dance by challenging the limits of academic discourse on the body and choreographic art. Since then, his works have subverted traditional notions of authorship and the creative process, as well as altering the roles of spectator and performer, and blur the boundaries between the museum and the theartrical space.

SON[I]A talks to Xavier Le Roy about some of his choreographies and working processes.
