The third edition of the children’s cinema cycle “Short Stories of Cinema” reviews the film career of the Scottish artist and filmmaker Norman McLaren. Known as the “poet of animation”, McLaren’s uniqueness is rooted in uniting experimental and avant-garde cinema with the illusionist tradition of animated films. McLaren experimented with several cinematographic techniques while coming up with the idea that film should be a universal language that eschews the spoken word and expresses everything with image and sound. SON[I]A reviews this artist’s career while speaking with Eugeni Bonet, curator of the cycle.
