The Independent Studies Programme (PEI) is an initiative set in motion by the MACBA to promote other models of unofficial teaching and education from the museum space. As a programme independent from institutional education, the PEI proposes a critical revision of current educational methodology, encompassing an understanding of it as a practice of relationships and mediation between museum and public. In this edition the PEI includes the participation of Xavier Antich, Manuel Asensi, Enric Berenguer, Miren Etxezarreta, Marcelo Expósito, Beatriz Preciado, Carlos Prieto and Joan Roca, among others. This SON[I]A speaks about the subject to Manuel Asensi, co-director of the PEI (course 2006).
